Fantastic couple, fantastic family, fantastic location and a fantastic future together. Michael and Stephanie said I do on a snowy, sunny, overcast, rainy day in Canmore a few weeks back and everything was perfect. From the setting at Silvertip overlooking the Bow Valley to the 1958 Rolls Royce and the short stop at the Rose and Crown where the couple met for a quick pint; it was my idea of a perfect wedding. Thanks you two for letting me be part of your special day.

This was the first wedding I’ve ever shot that I didn’t get to shoot an engagement session so it was a bit weird meeting the groom for the first time 15 minutes before the ceremony in the basement of the Lougheed House (I was lucky enough to meet his lovely bride two weeks earlier when she was in the city to tie up some wedding details). Needless to say after about two minutes of introductions I knew that their wedding was going to be great! The day started at Jerome’s Salon where the Bride, her sister, mom and grandma were getting the royal treatment. To any brides out there looking for a place for hair and make up Jerome’s was awesome. After strolling up 11th Ave for a couple of pics we headed to the Lougheed House for what was an amazing ceremony, dinner and reception. The day had everything laughter, tears an over sized moose-head……what else could a photographer ask for? Thanks you two for having me capture your perfect day. I hope you enjoy the pics as much as I enjoyed taking them.

I was lucky enough to get to shoot another amazing wedding in Puerto Vallarta this year. This time I was at the Friendly Vallarta 10 minutes out of Old Town. It was an awesome day with family and friends (the bride is my sister) and the beach party after was amazing….sadly there are no photos of this as I was off the clock as photographer and on the clock as DJ! I’m thinking of opening a full service wedding company as I had the dance floor packed…lol. Thanks to my two assistants and everyone it involved. It was a perfect wedding and I think we should celebrate it every year with a return trip!

First off, my thanks to all the staff at Acceleware. If these folks weren’t so good at developing software and training, I think there could be a couple aspiring models in the group. Everyone was a lot of fun and really made my job easy. Acceleware is going to be developing a new website and instead of using stock images thought it would be fun to have there own library of stock images…Enter me. We had a great day of shooting at their local Calgary office with some awesome results. Check them out!

I can’t believe this shoot was taken on February the 4th!! It was +13 out and Michael, Stephanie and I I had a great afternoon wandering around the east village. I can’t wait for this project to be finished, it really is going to be something. During this shoot it was the first time I shot at the new underpass connecting Olympic Way with 9th ave. It’s a pretty cool underpass especially at night.

Beautiful weather, beautiful couple makes for a beautiful shoot. Thanks you two can’t wait for Canmore!

Compass Compression I Calgary Corporate Photographer

I’ve been shooting compressors for Compass Compression for over a year now. All the photos have been very similar and used for marketing materials and their website but this week while waiting for a compressor to get cleaned up for it’s close up I walked around the plant with their marketing girl and grabbed a few shots of the plant. I think the plant itself with all the steel and guys in overalls really leads itself to a gritty, vintage black and white finish. Here’s what a few of the shots look like.
